Job Description

The West Coast Editorial Assistant will work closely with the Refinery29 Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Miami editors to assist them in producing and maintaining their individual sites. The West Coast EA will be responsible for writing and producing daily blog posts using knowledge of local fashion, culture, news, and lifestyle. In addition, he or she will often assist in researching and writing newsletters and provide stand-in support during times when their supervising editors are out of the office. The West Coast Editorial Assistant will also be responsible for managing and coordinate scheduling of all their respective local editorial interns, as well asposting to social media outlets, attending press events, and fulfilling  administrative responsibilities.The West Coast EA will also be responsible some administrative responsibilities related to the Refinery29 headquarters. 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two internships in publishing and digital media, as well as personal blogging experience.A healthy addiction to the internet, fashion, and pop culture
  • Experience working with social media
  • Strong almost-obsessive knowledge of fashion, shopping, and style, as well as other lifestyle categories including home, dining, and entertainment
  • Experience with HTML and Photoshop 
  • Must be quick on his/her feet with a real talent for generating and finding fresh engaging content not just daily, but hourly
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must be team-oriented, responsive, and comfortable collaborating, but also able to work independently
