Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking highly motivated Entry Level Civil to join our Environmental Business Line in the Raleigh, North Carolina office, working on rewarding projects within a diverse culture, and having access to exceptional training and career development opportunities.
You will work with a diverse team of technical experts to deliver remediation services to our clients in the Power sector market and across business lines to support AECOM’s growing business. In this role, you will support the design and construction of various solid waste disposal facilities, earthen dams, and other civil, geotechnical, and remediation projects.

AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. In this role, technical new hires are eligible to participate in AECOM’s Graduate Development Program (GDP), a 2-year development experience designed to support assimilation into the organization, help with technical development planning toward licensure (or other early technical milestones), and with creating a foundation of knowledge necessary for future career success.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing the planning and design documents for civil and environmental engineering projects under supervision of a professional engineer, project manager or senior-level team member using engineering design software and equipment
- Effectively using reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
- Coordinates and performs field inspection services, as needed
- Writes and/or reviews draft reports, including erosion and sediment control narratives, stormwater management reports, and technical specifications
- Travel (approximately 50%) as needed for field assignments conducting dam inspections, overseeing subsurface investigations, and construction quality assurance (CQA) oversight of construction activities as needed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Ability to perform field work without restrictions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or related field
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Stormwater design capabilities including knowledge of HydroCAD or other TR-55 based software platforms
