Job Description

AECOM is seeking for an experienced Construction Project Manager IV for employment in Palm Beach.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Determining the phasing of work, critical paths, milestones and be able to set deadlines for funding, permitting, design and construction for the various projects
  • Assist the County in determining the most appropriate procurement approach
  • Develop and maintain a schedule of the work
  • Develop reporting tools to keep the County informed of all issues in a timely manner
  • Assist the County staff in the procurement process for obtaining contractors
  • Assist the County staff with the contract administration for the design and construction contracts
  • Coordinate and provide information needed for design of projects and ensure consistency across multiple projects
  • Provide value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Assist in packaging construction opportunities for inclusion
  • Monitor overall budgets, costs and schedules
  • Assist with public outreach if requested
  • Provide all construction administration, minutes, budget control, project controls, quality assurance and reviews
  • Prepare presentations and attend meetings and provide reports as required

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or AA/AS + 8 years of relevant experience or HS Diploma/GED + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.  
  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • In order to receive a security badge at the client worksite for which you are being hired to perform services, you will be required to pass the client's fingerprint screening, which will be done after you have commenced employment and is a condition of your continued employment.

The required skills and abilities of the Construction Manager include: 

  • A thorough knowledge of MEP systems and design, as well as knowledge of industry standards, construction quality, materials, methods, principles and practices used in the construction trades and of building codes and regulations.
  • An ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications and the ability to recognize deviations from such plans in the construction process.
  • An ability to use computerized work order systems; an ability to use construction management software to review and document project progress.
  • An ability to comprehend and present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing and to submit clear, concise reports as required; an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, the public and other staff personnel.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ year's of relevant experience.
  • Residential construction and non-residential construction including but not limited to HVAC upgrade projects is preferred.
  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an office environment. Position requires often (25-50% of the workday) performance of keyboard/mouse operations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time. Routinely operate a computer and related equipment.
