Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking an energetic, dedicated person to fill the role of Environmental Technician II for employment in the Mechanicsburg, PA office. This position would be reporting under AECOM’s Environmental team in Mechanicsburg, which carries out environmental site assessment and remediation work both inside and outside the province.

The successful candidate will support various projects conducting remedial excavation oversight, contractor management and routine field monitoring and soil sampling activities. Conducting field work is an integral component of this position and it is important that the applicant must be willing to travel, including extended travel, when necessary.
The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
- Performs a variety of tasks in support of project staff.
- May gather and maintain specified records of scientific data for supervisor, including but not limited to environmental sampling, operations and maintenance and inspections at client sites.
- Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining proper project documentation.
- Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories under supervision.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- HS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid US Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must pass the AECOM Motor Vehicle screening
- Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is required
- As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a drug screen
- As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to pass a medical screen
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Geology, Environmental Science, or other related sciences
- 3+ years of experience in environmental assessment and remediation.
- 3+ years of experience in soil and groundwater sampling techniques; and applicable laboratory analytical methods
- Current 40-hr HazWOPER Certification and associated refresher
- Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification
- Strong understanding of project documentation requirements including taking organized and detailed field notes, recording observations
