Job Description

We are looking for a Linear Infrastructures Design Engineer with experience in rail geometric design, to join our ambitious and experienced Linear Infrastructures team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone railway team or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering railway designs for many years, throughout the USA and Australia not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Enterprise Capabilities Center (Poland/Spain).

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Work is accomplished autonomously on small projects or portions of larger projects supported by EC within established procedures and practices related to linear infrastructures
  • Independently preparing design calculations or reports related to railway elements (geometric design)
  • Performs railway engineering work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Performs a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others and participates in quality control reviews of documentation originated by equally or less experienced staff.
  • Prepares project deliverables that are reviewed by senior team members.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Proven track record of working on railway designs (+4 years).
  • Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e AASTHO; AREMA; Australian Codes; British Standards, etc.) will be considered favorably.
  • Advanced level in geometric design and 3D modeling using any of the following:
  • Bentley Open Roads /Open Rail Designer software.
  • PowerRail Track
  • Civil3D
  • Advanced level in CAD software (preferable AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
  • Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)


Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
