Job Description

The Custom Development Consultant is responsible for developing relationships and partnering with client leadership to identify opportunities to establish, or enhance existing, IT solutions through custom code development. Specifically, it is responsible for identifying and driving custom development project opportunities by understanding the current technical architecture and industry best practices and identifying IT solutions to deliver efficiencies and reduce costs. The Custom Development Consultant must have a wide range of skills and knowledge of the technologies used and applications supported by Client Service Teams as well as the project management background to manage and grow the Custom Development team. Along with leading the custom development team, the consultant will mentor and provide technical support to developers working on a variety of projects across a portfolio of custom developed business systems built across multiple technology platforms. The Custom Development Consultant works as part of a team and reports to the Custom Development Lead and the Accenture Program Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Identify, pursue and build relationships with client leads in custom mode development.
  • Assume the lead role in identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities related to custom development.
  •  Work with Client, Accenture, and Teaming Partners on and across their assigned Support Team.
  • Support Leadership and Transition Mentoring/Knowledge Transfer.
  • Support Functional and Application Mentoring/Knowledge Transfer.
  • Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in Accenture Methodologies.
  • Coordinate across Task Orders, Organizations, and Stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in structured peer reviews / walkthroughs. 
  • Meet service commitments for assigned deliverables and proactively provide work status.
  • Continuously develop industry knowledge and associated skills. 
  • Program-level priority analysis and planning.
  • Daily Client Leadership communication and consulting.
  • Anticipate, identify, track and resolve issues and risks for Client Leadership Review.
  • Establish and mentor a team of skilled developer resources

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  •  US Citizen (no dual citizenship) 
  • Ability to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance or higher 
  • Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with Java J2EE
  • Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with at least 2 of the following technologies: Web Logic, Struts 1.0 or greater, Apache Tiles, JSP
  • Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with at least 2 of the following technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL
  • Minimum 1 year of managerial experience/team lead
  • Minimum 1 year of Release Management and Functional Testing Planning 
  • Minimum 1 year of Operations and Project Management experience

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
