Job Description

We are seeking a Scale Clerk to join our team from Monday-Friday 7:30am-6:00pm and every other Saturday from 7:30am-4:00pm (you will have 1 day off during the week if working the Saturday). This position is a temporary (6 month) contract.

As a Scale House Operator, you will be responsible for accurately documenting weights and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

What you're responsible for:

  • Operate the scale system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing metal materials
  • Record weights and relevant information in the computer system or on paper records
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, weights, material types, and customer information
  • Verify the identification and documentation of drivers, carriers, and vehicles while Issuing receipts, and processing payments accurately
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining filing systems

Qualifications

What we offer:

  • You have previous experience as a scale house operator or strong customer service setting
  • You have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • You have proficient computer skills and experience with scale software and Microsoft Office applications
  • You have the ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
  • You have effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • You must be available to work every other Saturday from 7:30am-4:00pm
