Job Description
Angler Environmental, a RES Company, is hiring a GIS Analyst to enable our growth activities. GIS Analyst works closely with an extended team – analysts, account managers, engineers, land representatives, regulatory experts, government affairs, field operations and executive management.
GIS Analyst responsibilities include:
- Sourcing, capturing and analyzing data on markets for ecological offset solutions
- Provides GIS based analysis and graphics region wide which includes multiple offices
- Creates high quality map production to support field work
- Complete raster and vector GIS spatial analysis
- Develop and maintain geospatial datasets; including relational databases
- Import XY data, assign coordinate systems and join attribute tables
- Converts data to and from various data formats
- Analyzing and reporting on historical trends
- Estimating and reporting on potential impacts from development projects
- Developing business forecasts using economic development data
- Coordinate, plan, and support simultaneous tasks and GIS projects
- Consult users to identify new data/software requirements
Qualifications
Degree: BS/MS in Environmental Science, Biology, Ag Science, Wildlife Management, Geography, or related degree
GIS Analysts will be provided with the background knowledge and resources necessary to develop a full understanding of the markets where Angler, a RES Company operates. Successful candidates will be driven and self-motivated, as GIS Analysts will be given a high degree of independence to develop market analyses that Angler, a RES Company will use to drive business growth. The GIS Analyst position is designed to lead to positions of greater responsibility, as determined by both skill-level and performance.
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years of full time experience with ESRI ArcGIS 10.x Desktop software
- Experience with 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions
- GIS Certification
- Comprehensive knowledge of technical cartography methods applicable to land use and land classification
- Advance knowledge of coordinate systems, projections and transformations
- Prepares and execute workflows and geoprocesses using ModelBuilder and Python
- Ability to create online web maps and applications using ArcGIS Online
- Intermediate knowledge of Engineering techniques and requirements
