Job Description

The base salary range for this position is $95k -$135k.

Become an author of unique, one-of-a-kind culinary experiences for an up and coming culinary destination. Our Pastry Chef will plan, create, and produce innovative desserts, breads, and seasonal offerings for our resort.  He or she will oversee and work in tandem with the Pastry Shop's culinary team to ensure the best quality and proper presentation of tastefully prepared pies, cakes, cookies, ice cream, desserts, breads, and pastries.  We are seeking a leader who will provide support and career development to our culinary operation while achieving departmental goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, be proficient in time management, and has a strong business acumen with attention to detail.  Must be adaptable and able to work across all departments servicing multiple outlets and high level/volume banquet operations. A minimum of 2 years experience in a related setting is required. 

  • Ability to decorate pastries and desserts using different types of icings, toppings, etc., and ensures food presentation will be creatively inspired, exciting and delicious.
  • Prepares a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, etc., following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Creates innovative desserts for the hotel’s outlets to engage the interest of our guests.
  • Works to create new menu items for restaurants that are in keeping with each outlet concept.  Responsible for the development and operation of a creative and high quality pastry and bread production program for all of the hotel’s operations. 
  • Monitor quality of product in all areas to ensure standards are met.  
  • Responsibility for product being ample and consumed in all outlets every day for three meals a day. 
  • Conducts on-going training sessions with subordinate personnel to increase their knowledge and capabilities in the pastry shop.
  • Works to improve and implement new methods of baking pastry items on a continuous basis. 
  • Works to create new menu items for restaurants that are in keeping with each outlet concept.
  • Handles all administrative duties including scheduling, staffing, daily labor reports, discipline, etc.
  • Consults with the Executive Chef concerning special plans and banquets and any other catered functions outside of the regular hotel meal service.
     

Qualifications

  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position, in a related setting with supervisory responsibilities.
