Job Description

Providing leadership, advice and governance support on matters of Indigenous policy, employment and engagement, the key responsibilities of the National Indigenous Affairs Manager include:

  • Identify and maintain key relationships with Traditional Owner groups, local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities, social procurement organisations and associated government agencies.
  • Develop, deliver and report on the BESIX Watpac Reconciliation Action Plan and action items.
  • Support BESIX Watpac projects to deliver initiatives that support project targets for Indigenous participation and procurement.
  • Support and provide input into project bids and tenders.
  • Provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees at BESIX Watpac, including leadership of the BESIX Watpac Indigenous Staff Network.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Prior experience in an Indigenous relations role and demonstrated connection with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing Indigenous Affairs initiatives to achieve employment and engagement outcomes.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to regularly travel to other offices and sites as required.
