Job Description
General Responsibility:
The Junior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical maintenance of the baggage handling system. The required maintenance will follow processes and procedures established for the overall system maintenance and requests for service which includes both electrical or mechanical work. This position will perform work under supervision of the Shift Supervisor.
- Carry out operational duties as required to keep the baggage system running at optimal performance
- Troubleshoot errors on the baggage handling system
- Reset errors due to luggage, equipment, or operator
- Perform electrical and mechanical preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Support activities with BEUMER Group products and systems in response to customer requirements
- Monitor the performance of the baggage handling system including system inspections
- Adhere to the various quality and reporting systems
- Adhere to all Health and Safety Requirements and Quality Control policies
- Provide adequate feedback to Shift Supervisor
- Report spare parts usage
- Follow escalation procedures when needed
- Perform and track equipment repairs
- Follow escalation procedures as required
- Carry out other assignments as requested from Management or Shift Supervisors
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Electrical or Mechanical Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of operations and maintenance electro-mechanical experience; preferably in baggage handling systems and/or material handling automated systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain airside security clearance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant system and product knowledge
- System flow knowledge
- High-Level control (SAC) skills
- PLC programming skills
- Field-Bus skills
- Software documentation
- IT network and communication knowledge
- Competencies in objective analysis and development
*This position is subject to prevailing wage and consists of multiple crafts. While performing the duties aligned per craft, the following payrates apply:
Laborer:
Base Pay: $39.25 per hour + Fringe Rate
Millwright:
Base Pay: $69.13 per hour + Fringe Rate
Hours: (Third Shift): 10:00pm-6:30am
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
