Job Description
This position reports to the Family & Student Pastor.
Job Summary
The Director of Nursery/Preschool is to oversee the ministry and outreach to children and their parents from birth through preschool. Working in harmony with other staff members and ministry team leaders, the Director of Nursery/Preschool will lead, offer direction, organization and support for an innovative ministry to kids and their families at Blue Oaks Church, helping to reach kids for Christ and grow them spiritually.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Ministry
• Develop goals and objectives for the Nursery and Preschool areas of Blue Oaks Kids in line with the vision and goals of Blue Oaks.
• Work closely with the Elementary Director to maintain a congruent approach to encouraging kids to grow spiritually and to influence families for Jesus.
• Manage the curriculum that meets our spiritual development goals in Blue Oaks Kids.
• Create a dynamic Sunday morning experience for preschool aged kids that makes church an exciting place for them.
• Develop leaders who develop great relationships with nursery and preschool kids and their parents.
• Implement the Blue Oaks @Home initiatives where appropriate.
• Develop Sunday morning environments for kids that are safe, supportive, welcoming, dynamic and challenging.
Staff Supervision and Development
• Identify staff and volunteer resources and needs.
• Coordinate and oversee weekly scheduling of volunteers.
• Coordinate all required materials and logistics for weekend services.
• Develop volunteer leaders who love and lead our kids effectively one-on-one and in small groups.
• Oversee, plan and implement volunteer staff recruitment, training and development.
Administration
• Be responsive to communication demands which arise through personal interaction, email, and telephone contacts.
• Develop relationships with schools, churches, and para-church organizations that support our efforts to reach kids.

• A growing Christian as supported by a signed statement of faith from Blue Oaks Church.
• An ongoing display of Christ-like behavior, treating others with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
• Regular attendance in ministry and worship.
• Five years of relevant work experience
