Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible to visually inspect and record the quality of the finished product at the exit end of the production line. Duties include visually inspecting coils from stitch to stitch for coater and/or mill defects of any type. If a defect is identified, they are to notify appropriate personnel and to discontinue painting if defects are continuous or deemed not fixable in their perspective. Additional duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Comply with all safety and environmental policies and contribute to the company’s Zero Harm commitment
- Perform and coordinate product and process inspections
- Troubleshoot daily issues which impact part quality (i.e. issues created by prior operations, communication of specifications, non-conforming products, etc.)
- Assist in maintaining quality through training new and existing Machine Operators. Communicate improved procedures and requirement to shop personnel.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and corrective action activities
- Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Education or GED required.
- 1+ year(s) experience in a manufacturing setting
- Previous experience using measuring equipment
Skills & Competencies:
- Communication
- Basic Math
- Strong computer skills
- Research and problem-solving skills
- Oracle database
Equipment/ Tools Used:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined in the role specific Job Safety Analysis
- Inspection tools may include gauge, gloss meter, scales/balances, calibration equipment and more.
- Computer and tablet
