A company in the FMCG Sector is looking to hire a Plant quality manager .This role will function in the Quality Assurance department.

Job Description

Ensuring compliance to quality norms, policies and procedures of the company with the objective of achieving a quality culture to achieve consistent quality with zero defect in collaboration with all stakeholders by constantly developing, planning and implementing quality systems & processes and training of plant personnel

• Improve Business Processes

o Develop, plan and implement quality systems to meet Food Safety standards in line with GFSI guidelines.

o Ensure food safety requirements including PRPs, audit processes (factory, market, warehouse, etc.), conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective action plan, review compliance status for all the quality related observations and lead the process of sharing observations with all stakeholders for implementation/closure.

o Closely interact with other functions including R&D, Manufacturing, Sourcing, etc., and seek their inputs on improvement/ development of Quality Systems and Processes. 

o Setup, maintain and operate lab to meet all requirements of testing of incoming, in-process and finished goods consistently.

o Coordination with external laboratories and external calibration agencies for all other testing requirements.

o Support vendor quality improvement programs and looking for opportunities for improvement with vendors 


• Managing Talent

o Develop and train the team to improve the effectiveness of implementation of best/ next practices in the area of work.

o Identify learning needs of team members and personnel critical to food safety in order to enhance skills and develop/maintain a motivated team. 

• Resolve Customer Issues

o Classify and process consumer feedback through interaction with customers and stakeholders’.

o Advice immediate/ short /long term action plan through the internal web based system in order to address customer issues in a timely manner and maintain satisfied customers.

o Assist in investigation on quality related matters including co-ordination with other stakeholders.

• Risk Management

o Review and report compliance status for identified risks

o Report all business risk related quality non-conformances and escalation.

o Report to all concerned stake holders on business risk in this area.

o Liaise with statutory , regulatory and government agencies

• New Projects and cost efficiency programs

o Assist in commissioning and start-up of new projects and conduct IQ, OQ, PQ for new equipment installations.

o Validate quality aspects during scale up trials including travel test and share trial reports to all stakeholders’ in order to ensure that all new products developed and scaled up meet quality norms. 

o Develop new ways of working that would be cost effective and be within the budget.

• Review & Reporting

o Collection of information on functional activities & present the same

o Make available information and necessary documents related to quality KPI for review at any point of time.

o Develop appropriate tracking mechanism to report progress on a daily/weekly/fortnightly /Monthly/Quarterly and on annualized basis on outcomes of implementation of Quality Plan.



Qualifications

 Food Technology, M. Sc. (Food Science).


10-15 years of experience in food industry


Thorough Knowledge of Food Safety systems, GMP, GLP, Auditing, Compliance, Training, Food testing (including sensory), basic regulatory knowledge
