Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Director of Sales to lead and inspire our sales team while achieving and exceeding company sales goals. This role plays a critical part in driving business growth by ensuring all key metrics are met, maintaining adherence to California Closets’ policies and procedures, and delivering a high standard of customer service at every touchpoint. In this role, you will develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The Director of Sales will manage, mentor, and develop the Design Consultant team to ensure excellence in customer experiences. Additionally, you will collaborate with the CEO and Operations Team to maintain seamless process flows that align with California Closets’ standards and contribute to sustainable success.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Performance Management

  • Hire and retain top talent in collaboration with the CEO, ensuring budget alignment
  • Manage and mentor a team of Design Consultants to deliver the California Closets experience, meeting or exceeding revenue goals and KPIs
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly goal-setting sessions and performance reviews, providing coaching and guidance to support the professional growth of Design Consultants
  • Address underperformance through structured improvement plans and maintaining detailed documentation
  • Ensure Design Consultants deliver the California Closets’ standards of excellence for every customer interaction

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • Work closely with the Operations Analytics Team to identify opportunities and risks through data insights, driving informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with the CEO to establish and execute initiatives that meet or exceed sales goals and key business metrics
  • Work with cross-functional teams to create and execute sales contests, incentive programs, and develop sustainable trade business strategies

Customer Relations and Process Management

  • Oversee proper CRM usage, emphasizing and maintaining high-quality data entry and monitoring sales activity
  • Review customer feedback and address any negative responses, ensuring appropriate follow-ups with customers and Design Consultants
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Operations Team to ensure adherence to process flows and deliver exceptional customer service across all touch points

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with the CEO on cross-functional initiatives, such as optimizing sales processes and enhancing customer experiences
  • Plan and lead monthly sales meetings, incorporating updates, strategy discussions, and guest speakers. Work closely with the Operations Team to maintain process flow and alignment with business objectives

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in sales, sales operations/management, marketing, consulting, business development, or a related field
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and leading high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success as a sales coach and mentor, fostering team development and growth
  • Strong skills in effectively managing and resolving conflicts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Outstanding ability to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting to drive informed decisions
  • Familiarity with design fundamentals preferred; experience with CAD is a plus
