Job Description

Children’s Therapy Center is seeking a CHERISH Infant Mental Health Therapist to join our CHERISH Program! Our CHERISH Infant Mental Health Therapist will be a member of our Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Team and will focus on providing services to foster children age 0-3 and their parents, foster parents, and/or relative caregivers. Our preferred candidate is experienced, with training providing appropriate support for young children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect. (S)he will have a strong passion for helping children with special needs, and their families reach their full potential.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate as part of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to conduct assessments for foster children aged 0-3, and similar cases as needed.
  • Provide in-home parent-infant relational interventions around issues of attachment, adjustment and emotional development.
  • Assess the development of social-emotional functioning; design and implement individual treatment plans; prepare progress reports; review medical reports; and maintain accurate records of contact.
  • Collaborate and consult with multi-disciplinary staff on treatment(s) for foster children receiving therapy services.
  • Participate in program planning and execution including presentations, materials, referrals, inter-team collaborations, etc.
  • Complete all documentation as required including case notes, treatment plans, session notes, and reports in accordance with Washington State’s Early Support for Infants and Toddlers Program (ESIT).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field; Master’s Degree with formal CHERISH Training and/or Infant Mental Health Certified.
  • Valid WA state professional license or under clinical supervision pursuing a license
  • Experience and training in infant mental health, psychotherapy, and attachment theory
  • Knowledgeable and awareness of disproportionality, and systematic racism that exists within the foster care system, as well as organizations and systems throughout the United States
  • Experience and training in systems (i.e. foster care/child welfare)
  • Strong word processing and proficient with MS Word and Outlook
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and valid automobile insurance including access to dependable personal transportation

Additional Information

This is a full-time position with a planned schedule of approximately 40 hours per week
