Job Description

We are seeking a QA Automation Tester in the Denver Tech center area for a 6 month contract opportunity.   In this role, you will be building requirements, test planning, designing/writing manual and automated test cases/scripts, and test execution.  Involved in projects of moderate to high complexity within multiple testing environments.  Additional responsibilities of this role are as follows:

 

  • Enhance Selenium-based regression suites and Jmeter-based load/performance tests for our primary web applications
  • Work with the development team to create, document, and approve system requirements
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to translate functional requirements into test plans
  • Manage system defects and enhancements using the JIRA defect tracking system
  • Manage and switch between numerous UNIX-based and Windows-based testing environments and databases
  • Manage test data in MySQL databases
  • Evaluate and research new testing-related methodologies, tools, and techniques

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of industry experience in a test engineer and/or QA testing role
  • Highly experienced with object oriented analysis/design, Java, Junit, JavaScript, UNIX scripts, etc.
  • Proficient designing, creating, and debugging Selenium tests and browser web drivers
  • Proficient designing, creating, and debugging Jmeter load tests
  • Experience with GIT version control and continuous integration
  • Experience working with database schemas and querying tools
  • Experience with web application server configuration and deployment (especially Tomcat)
  • Solid knowledge of desktop application software (Microsoft Office, Open Office, etc.)
  • Flexibility to switch between and manage multiple projects at one time
  • Passion to contribute and communicate positively as a team member within a smaller dynamic work environment
