Job Description
We are seeking a QA Automation Tester in the Denver Tech center area for a 6 month contract opportunity. In this role, you will be building requirements, test planning, designing/writing manual and automated test cases/scripts, and test execution. Involved in projects of moderate to high complexity within multiple testing environments. Additional responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Enhance Selenium-based regression suites and Jmeter-based load/performance tests for our primary web applications
- Work with the development team to create, document, and approve system requirements
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to translate functional requirements into test plans
- Manage system defects and enhancements using the JIRA defect tracking system
- Manage and switch between numerous UNIX-based and Windows-based testing environments and databases
- Manage test data in MySQL databases
- Evaluate and research new testing-related methodologies, tools, and techniques
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of industry experience in a test engineer and/or QA testing role
- Highly experienced with object oriented analysis/design, Java, Junit, JavaScript, UNIX scripts, etc.
- Proficient designing, creating, and debugging Selenium tests and browser web drivers
- Proficient designing, creating, and debugging Jmeter load tests
- Experience with GIT version control and continuous integration
- Experience working with database schemas and querying tools
- Experience with web application server configuration and deployment (especially Tomcat)
- Solid knowledge of desktop application software (Microsoft Office, Open Office, etc.)
- Flexibility to switch between and manage multiple projects at one time
- Passion to contribute and communicate positively as a team member within a smaller dynamic work environment
