Job Description

We are seeking a Project Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity in downtown Denver, CO.  In this role, you will be managing various projects within the portfolio for a growing organization.   You will assist the PMO Director in providing direction to functional team members on the program, identifying and presenting key information for leadership to make decisions, ensuring project oversight from planning through deployment, including: organizing, communicating, consulting, and serving as liaison with management, vendors and key stakeholder groups. 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the Director of PMO to understand program objectives and vision
  • Work cross-functionally and establish trust to resolve business concerns; seek opportunities to increase business satisfaction, deepen relationships and advocate on behalf of the organization to vendors
  • Review impacts to scope, schedule and budget with Director of PMO and DTP Steering Committee to seek approval prior to implementing changes
  • Ensure the development, maintenance and storage of high-quality project documentation, including: contracts, change orders, requirements, budgets, schedules and timelines, presentations, and other project artifacts
  • Manage projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline
  • Maintain and continually groom program artifacts to ensure up-to-date information, including RAID log, program plan, control log, program intake forms, program dashboards, etc.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that encompass the various tasks and deliverables across project phases, from initial planning through deployment
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables
  • Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Resolve or assist in the resolutions of interdependency conflicts within and between project timelines;  develop methods (e.g., regular status meetings) to monitor project progress; provide corrective supervision if necessary
  • Maintain quality of standards of performance, functionality, and cost while effectively applying organization IT methodology and enforcing project standards
  • Prepare and produce engaging, informative and well-organized status reports for key stakeholder groups
  • Analyze economics of proposed project changes and provide actionable feedback relating to cost benefit and return-on-investment; suggest alternative solutions (i.e., think out-of-the-box) and clearly state recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience;
  • Candidate must have a proven track record of successfully completing projects on schedule and within budget
  • Proficiency in all aspects of project management, including:  preparation of Gantt charts, resource planning, progress and budget tracking, project risk management and contingency planning techniques;
  • Extensive leadership experience and strong teaming abilities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and resolve conflicting high-priority requirements
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate the needs of others effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively, build consensus, facilitate working sessions, and negotiate solutions and alternatives
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple and shifting priorities and possess excellent time management skills
  • Good at motivating and delegating to peers as appropriate
  • Able to complete tasks within required timeframes with little or no supervision
  • Ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, a self-starter, pragmatic and self-disciplined
  • Minimum three years management experience in the IT field, including work within the system-development-lifecycle and interactions with business customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Proficiency with SmartSheets and Microsoft Office products

Desired:

·         Experience implementing Workday and Skedulo projects
