Job Description

In this role, you will actively support the development of SSL's competitive position at assigned automotive OEM(s), drives SSL strategy by triggering, executing, and following up acquisition activities, leads the project teams, and ensures project success by target-oriented project management. Includes growth through the acquisition of new projects, support in the development and delivery of new model lines and/or changes in existing lines. Responsible for ensuring the profitability of assigned OEM projects in each region.

Core Responsibilities  

  • Responsible to develop new business growth plans and acquire new business for assigned OEM(s)
  • Development and preparation of tactical and strategic plans and budgets
  • Coordination and communication of schedules and priorities for programs between manufacturing, R&D, tech service, sales, and customers (trial batches, plant production, customer construction approvals, build events)
  • Develop, lead, and manage proposal presentations to OEMs; creation of project requests; and business plans to obtain OEM and internal approval
  • Responsibility for commercial issues of assigned OEM including price negotiations, development projects, corresponding sub-projects, and engineering changes
  • Maintain relationships with customers to promote SSL’s interests at each program phase
  •  Continue to build the brand image of SSL
  • Responsible for market and business opportunity analysis
  • Ensure SAP system is updated and maintain for accurate OEM(s) forecast and reporting for all preproduction and serial production events

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the automotive industry
  • Project management experience
  • Completed international projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills at least as a project leader, customer communication, and negotiation experience.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time (Domestically and Internationally)
  • Visa sponsorship for Continental employees only

Preferred Qualifications 

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Engineer or Technical field
