Job Description
Develop, implement, and maintain packaging that will protect and meet part requirements for various components and automotive programs during transportation, handling, and storage. Actively support packaging reimbursement and replacement requests to our Customers. Maintain awareness of component and finished good volume fluctuations and ensure enough packaging material is available to support the supply chain loop.
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate design and procurement of new product packaging and ensure cost feasibility.
- Monitor and track existing packaging quantities with respect to part volume fluctuations and scrap due to wear; then ensure additional or replacement packaging is ordered to offset changes.
- Daily support of Customer and Supplier packaging requests.
- Develop and maintain Continental Morganton standardized packaging specifications, procedures, forms and packaging instructions in SAP/SPIRIT
- Review and approve Supplier packaging specifications.
- Support and maintain the SAP-SCM module for interface with the MOP database.
- Schedule all testing required to support packaging validation.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
- Some knowledge of packaging design and development
- Working knowledge of material flow and material handling equipment
- Knowledge of customer packaging management systems and reporting requirements
- Proficient in written communication skills, negotiation skills, project tracking and time management
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift packaging and trays for review purposes.
