Job Description

The Senior Manager Financial Communications is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic communications plan that enhances the organization's reputation, manages financial messaging, and strengthens relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, analysts, media, and regulators. This role ensures consistent, accurate, and compelling communication of the company’s financial performance, corporate strategy, and brand story.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy aligned with the company’s objectives and vision.
  2. Serve as the primary spokesperson for financial communications and key external messaging.
  3. Lead crisis communication strategies to mitigate risks and maintain the organization’s reputation.

Financial Communication:

  1. Oversee the preparation of earnings announcements, quarterly/annual reports, and other financial disclosures.
  2. Work closely with Investor Relations to craft narratives that effectively communicate the company’s financial performance and outlook.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in all financial communications.

Media Relations:

  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with financial media, industry analysts, and other key external stakeholders.
  2. Proactively identify opportunities for positive media coverage and manage media inquiries.
  3. Oversee the development of press releases, interviews, and other media content.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  1. Collaborate with senior leadership, including the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors, to align messaging with corporate strategy.
  2. Engage with investors, analysts, and key stakeholders to ensure transparency and trust.
  3. Monitor external perceptions of the company and advise leadership on reputation management.

Content Development:

  1. Lead the creation of high-quality communication materials, including speeches, presentations, Q&A documents, and social media content related to financial performance.
  2. Drive consistent messaging across all external communication channels.

Team Management:

  1. Build and manage a high-performing communications team.
  2. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development for team members.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Finance, Journalism, or a related field.
     
  • Experience:
    • Several years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or financial communications.
    • Proven track record of managing external communications in a publicly traded or high-profile organization.
    • Deep understanding of financial statements, investor relations, and regulatory requirements.
       
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and narrative development.
    • Strong media relations experience with a focus on financial media.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and manage complex reputational challenges.
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
    • High emotional intelligence and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
