Job Description

Reporting to the CEO and VP, the Lean Six Sigma Project Lead (Lean Lead) will work directly with the Operations Teams, Manufacturing Engineers, Safety Team, and Model Integration teams of our various companies to lead, refine, and execute a Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean roadmap. The goal is to directly impact lean efforts in improving processes and procedures while eliminating waste and reducing defects in manufacturing and other departments of the company. This Lean Champion will be an experienced candidate that is a self starter and an expert at Lean Manufacturing. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with the operations teams to develop and execute a Continuous Improvement (CI) roadmap
  • Teach basic problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Schedule, lead, and facilitate Kaizen Events and other CI projects 
  • Train and coach team members in the daily use and implementation of lean
  • Value Stream mapping and analysis
  • Identify and track KPI’s
  • Provide various data, analyses, and impact assessments to multiple departments 
  • Collect, gather, mine and analyze data using various tools
  • Play a key role in implementation of new processes, equipment, and products
  • Make revisions and improvements to training materials 
  • Identify waste in order to make improvements
  • Participate in Time Studies and work with cross functional teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related lean experience/training or equivalent combination of continuous improvement or operational excellence   
  • Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Operational Excellence Principles, 6S, CI, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Standard Work, Poka Yoke, and other lean tools
  • Experienced leader and change agent expert
  • Intermediate or above experience with business software applications, such as Microsoft Office
  • Experience with data gathering, mining, and analyses skills
  • Experienced at initiating, planning, directing, and executing process improvement projects
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Experience on the production floor 
  • Experienced in leading projects and teams
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Able to travel 70% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) year post-secondary degree, with a focus in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
