• Maintain fleet to a high standard demanded by the ministry of transport, ensuring the Health & Safety of our drivers,
• Follow guidelines set by ministry of transport on operator’s licence,
• Carry out detailed and informed diagnostics to avoid any extra cost or time,
• Work safely, join in with PGI’s and safety action teams,
• Deal with breakdowns by diagnosing problem on the phone and discussing with contractor, if necessary,
• Continually keep ahead of new and fast changing technology and willingness to learn and go on any course required that may improve knowledge,
• Maintain all paperwork legally required and enter all parts and time on the in-house fleet management computer,
• Any other duties as reasonably assigned.

• The job requires decisions around breakdowns, parts and time used to correctly run the fleet.

• The job requires the mechanic to have a recognised HGV apprenticeship to be able to carry out duties competently.
• Drive for results by having the ability to change with vehicle technology.
• Strong communication skills at every level both internally and externally
• Comfortable to discuss tasks with other team members and pass on learning.
• A good relationship with fellow Team of in-house Techs, VMU Manager, drivers, Operations and other parts of the business is essential to maintain relationships.
