We are now Recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Operative to join our Team in Widnes.
Shift: Monday-Friday Rotating Days and Nights - 05:00am-15:00pm & 20:00pm-06:00am.
Salary: £31,824 per annum - Equivalent to £13.60 per hour.
Overtime: £20.40 per hour.
Bank Holiday: £27.20 per hour.
Job Description
- To adhere to the site “Safe Systems of Work” including wearing the correct PPE in the relevant locations
- To follow all company Health and Safety Policies and procedures inline in the Company policy
- To pilot the cranes, assisting in the loading and unloading of the trains and wagons
- To work closely with the office to carry out housekeeping of the footprint to ensure the footprint is kept at an efficient operational level.
- To work effectively with the team of crane drivers, ensuring shift rotas area always adhered to.
- To ensure that turnaround of vehicles and the crane operations are carried out safely and efficiently.
- To work with the Train ‘Person In Charge’ ensuring the train procedure is carefully and safely adhered to
- To keep the crane cab clean and tidy for the following Crane Pilot
- To carry out any other duties as requested by the Terminal Manager/Supervisor
- Liaise with the Health and Safety Business Unit in relation to “Safe Systems of Work”, current legislation pertaining to Health and Safety and the requirements of the company Health and Safety Policy
- Ensure compliance with all Freightliner rules and regulations
- To accurately follow the Shunter trainer responsibilities and duties for train arrivals and departures guidelines
- Adhere to all accident and incident reporting procedures
- Working with your team to work safely and efficiently in order to maintain carriage processes within the correct timeframe
- To adhere to the Team Roster, Call Out Roster and absence cover requirements
- Promptly report defects found within the company’s Health and Safety Policy or methods of work relating to Freightliners rules and regulations
- Report any defect or hazard as soon as any is noted on company premises
- Participate in forums, seminars and training as may be requested by Supervisor(s)/Managers to secure knowledge and understanding of the role or facts of the role
- Follow all reasonable requests from Supervisor(s)/Managers
Qualifications
- Autostore Operating System
- Demonstrable Planning and Problem-Solving Skills
- Nationally recognised Health & Safety Accreditation
- Ensure all legal obligations are complied with accordingly.
- Ensure health, safety or welfare is always applied in the workplace.
- Raise any concerns to health and safety/ senior management immediately which may present danger to you or others
- Adhere to Company Code of Conduct when communicating over airway channels.
- Do not undertake or request others to undertake any works for which you/they do not hold the required competency or authority to undertake.
