Job Description
You have experience with storytelling in all its forms: articles, blogs, videos, websites, social media, podcasts, infographics and more.
As Copy Editor, you'll be responsible for a full spectrum of content editing, proofreading and writing needs, both long-form and short. You will develop an understanding of the brand standards of our newest client, a global computer software company, and gain institutional knowledge to maintain cohesiveness and consistency when proofreading or copy editing a client’s marketing components.
You will have opportunities to mentor other writers and editors with less experience than you, helping them grow in their career. You'll report to our Content Director and work collaboratively within a larger creative team that partners with strategists, technologists, and SEO analysts to create content that is not only creative, but also performance driven.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and create engaging, compelling stories in a variety of content formats, optimizing content for SEO
- Create, maintain, and follow internal client style guides and ensure content resonates with our client's tone, style, and strategic objectives
- Provide rigorous scrutiny of copy to identify and mark up any errors or queries regarding grammar, spelling, and punctuation, and client style/terminology nuances
- Collaborate with Art Directors, Designers, and Strategy Partners to concept ideas for stories and unique, creative ways to tell them
- Present your work to clients and provide POVs, addressing client feedback and concerns while honoring best practices
- Give and receive constructive feedback and offer guidance and mentorship to junior writers and editors
- Meet deadlines and negotiate timelines in a productive, solution-oriented manner
Must be based within commutable distance to our NYC office.

Qualifications
- Write, edit, and create engaging, compelling stories in a variety of content formats,
- 5+ years of experience editing content for websites, articles, blogs, videos, social posts, or other content formats
- Computer software technical writing experience
- Comfortable presenting and working with clients
- Able to speak to best practices
- A collaborative approach, take/give clear direction
Additional Information
The anticipated salary range for this position is $51,000 - $83,375. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
