Job Description
The VP, Copy, Market Access, is a content leader in the Market Access Strategic Affiliate, with oversight of large/mid/small account and complete commercialization agency of record and projects. The VP, Copy, Market Access, is a leadership position that collaborates with all members of the team to turn strategies into powerful, meaningful concepts and creative solutions. This position leads the creative team on all strategic projects, co-manages the client relationship, and oversees the quality of the team’s work. Provides a mastery in market access content and understanding and serves as a conduit between Account, Strategy, and Creative. The VP, Copy, Market Access primary responsibility is to own and oversee all copy functions for assigned agency accounts, as well as accounts for direct reports (Associate Creative Directors and below).
The VP, Copy, Market Access is also expected to perform independent research and to work with a variety of scientific materials to develop a range of pieces for payers and other managed markets stakeholders, resources for patients and caregivers and HCPs (if required), as well as sales force training pieces.
What Does A VP, Copy, Market Access Do?
- Demonstrates the ability to support and articulate an end-to-end strategy in collaboration with Content Strategy, Account, and Medical. Ensures the strategy aligns and integrates with other initiatives and campaigns and ensures the inclusion of clearly defined goals and measures. Tracks and makes adjustments to plan as needed.
- Oversee a team of day-to-day market access writers and guide content and review copy
- Taking ownership of assigned brand(s), maintaining a deep knowledge base of all messaging-related information pertaining to the brand(s)
- Demonstrates ability to defend and sell the most appropriate content solution to a client. Anticipates difficult situations and plans accordingly with alternative approaches, coaching other team members on how to react and respond to feedback as well. Recognized by the client as a leader of the copy team, who frequently communicates directly with clients. Demonstrates a nuanced understanding of appropriate client communication and is able to build deeper relationships and levels of trust with clients. Will work with internal teams on sales processes and pursuits, providing leadership in concepting, presentation preparation, and participating in new business pitches.
- Collaborating in building client relationships by participating in market research, presenting creative internally and externally, and driving strategic and tactical development
- Performing independent research and working with a variety of scientific materials to develop a range of informational pieces for managed markets stakeholders
- Helping to prepare materials for Medical-Legal-Regulatory (MLR) submissions and training more junior writers to do the same
- Working with confidential and sensitive corporate, client, and employee information and conducts themselves accordingly
- Proactively monitor the progress of both own and direct reports’ assigned projects, providing direction, input, and feedback on direct reports’ work
- Coordinate assignments among assigned freelance writers and manage the quality of freelance work before sharing with the broader team (Art, Art Services, Medical, Strategy, etc)
- Assess day-to-day and upcoming copywriting needs and alert supervisor to coverage gaps within the agency or availability to support other teams as needed
Qualifications
What Are We Looking For?
- BA in English, Communication, Life Sciences, or similar
- Master Degree in English, Communication, or Life Sciences a bonus but not required
- 10+ years of agency/healthcare writing experience
- 7+ years of market access writing experience
- At least 4 years of agency experience supervising copy for a brand(s)
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and a strong command of the English language
- Proficient in American Medical Association (AMA) style
- Familiarity with FDA/OPDP regulations and guidelines
- Demonstrated leadership qualities
- Strong verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to learn quickly
- High-level interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated salary range for this position is $159,000 - $210,000 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time.
