Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • A Customs Brokerage Agent will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department.
  • Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities
  • Daily execution of workflow and department metrics
  • Transfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry system
  • Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations
  • Ensure compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external
  • Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies
  • Understand customer expectation to ensure all the elements of the SOP and KPI’s are met
  • Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up

 

Qualifications

 

  • Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Understanding of transportation documentation and terms is a plus
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in English
  • College degree

Additional Information

Expected pay range for this position: $22.00-$25.00 per hour.
