Job Description
Operations
- Utilize Workboard, reports and desk checks to ensure timeliness of file logging, entry filing and billing.
- Ensure the team’s activities are in compliance with the regulations of local Customs laws and Partner Government Agencies (PGA)
- Ensure the team is compliant with the Operational Process Standards and works within the SOP requirements of the client(s)
- Ensure the team operates in accordance with the policies and procedures of Expeditors
- Ensure our clients are receiving an exceptional level of customer service
- Assist management with team Workboard and productivity. Also, join conference calls and/or pilot programs as designated by management
- Assist team members with problem solving and customer service
- Assist management with entry audits and corrective action
- Ability to perform all of the functions performed by Brokerage Agents including but not limited to processing entries, meeting KPI’s, working with Customs & PGA’s, etc.
- Ensure all team members are cross-trained and that each client has a primary and backup agent assigned.
- Assist with creating DLSOPs and transitioning new clients within the team
- Periodically review existing DLSOPs for accuracy and update or send to agent to update as necessary
Finances
- Ensure all team members are following Expeditors’ credit and OCL process.
- Review rate schedules for accuracy
- Assist management team to ensure all files are billed timely, accurately and accounting discrepancies are resolved
- Monitor overtime
- Assist management with reviewing profitability and productivity – with the goal of eliminating waste
People
- Maintain team’s morale at a high level and maintain a low level of unplanned turnover
- Assist in Training, Motivate, Challenge and Mentor other employees
- Have routine team meetings with all members of your team to ensure everyone is aware of changes, updates to regulations, etc.
- Work with management to prepare Annual Employee Reviews for members of your team.
- Ensure all team members meet or exceed training requirements and deadlines
Systems
- Embrace and Assist in streamlining processes via various systems and initiatives
- Proficient in all Expeditors’ systems

Qualifications

- Well rounded knowledge of the HTSUS
- Well rounded knowledge of Tile 19 of the Code of Federal Regulations
- Working knowledge and experience with PGA entries
- At least two years brokerage experience
- Track record of continuous self-development
- Experience with process improvements preferred
- Desire to pursue Customs Brokerage License
