Job Description
Scope of Position:
- In this position, you would be responsible for coordination of outbound air freight from the Los Angeles region. This is done by working with airlines, truckers, our warehouse, and other Expeditors offices.
- The key to success is proactive, interactive, and innovative customer service. Agents to use critical thinking skills to build valuable and customized solutions to various customer supply chains.
- This position is located within our Hawthorne office facility and will primarily conducted at a computer. There is some interaction with the warehouse, inspecting freight and interaction with customers, as needed.
- The position requires strong phone and email communication internally, with trucking companies, airlines, and other strategic service providers.
Position Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday 8AM to 5PM
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate air export shipments in accordance with internal performance standards, airline/trucking requirements, and government regulations.
- Tasks include but are not limited to receiving/reviewing documents, routing, booking, and preparing shipments, managing freight receipts, processing, and support throughout the life of the shipment.
- Proactive customer service. Agent responsible for creating and managing customer SOP’s, ensuring rates are verified and applied directly.
- Other tasks/duties as deemed appropriate by management team.
Qualifications

- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Successful candidates must pass a background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs
- Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA
- Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
- Comfortable working in a professional business environment with constant interaction with other team members, customer, other offices, and vendors.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates or Undergraduate Degree Preferred
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in thought and action
- Strong organizational skills
- Analytical with a strong attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability

Reporting Structure
- Agents report to Supervisors. Supervisors report to Operations Manager, then Department Manager.
