Job Description
How can you contribute?
You will join a challenging and unique large-scale Transformation Program with high impact and visibility. As Senior SysOps Administrator, you are primarily responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, and maintenance of; public and private cloud, Windows and Linux OS, physical and virtual servers, storage, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
We rely on our engineers to empower our users with high availability, excellent performance levels and key service. Ideally, we are seeking an experienced engineer to deliver insights and guidance as we design, build and operate a state-of-the-art on premise and multi-cloud “greenfield” infrastructure. We are looking for someone who is able to bring both ideas and solutions, demonstrates a unique and informed viewpoint, and enjoys collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop real-world IT service.
In the role of Senior SysOps Administrator, you will:
- Build, configure, operate and upgrade on-premise datacenters, plus the enablement of cloud infrastructure services where required by the business;
- Research, evaluate and recommend hardware & software for our virtualization platform;
- Manage server and storage resources on-premises and in Cloud;
- Develop and implement agile and scalable infrastructure solutions, with advanced monitoring and alerting, while establishing best practice tools, frameworks, and processes;
- Perform daily system checks, verifying the integrity and availability of development, testing, staging, and production environments;
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve connection, reliability, or performance issues;
- Contact vendor technical support for Priority 1 incidents and requests;
- Develop scripts to deliver automation and innovation initiatives, ability to drive automation initiatives independent of automation tools;
- Validate system upgrades and patches when required.
- Ensure that IT Services are delivered effectively to business customers, incl. the execution of SOPs, management of IT Incidents/Problems and IT Changes;
- Contribute to the reference documents to establish consistency and shared knowledge of Operations best practices and delivery methods;
- Participate in disaster recovery plan and practicing recovery operations;
- Provide after-hours on-call support (rotation) and participate with solution implementation (upgrades, new releases, …), patching and deployment activities as needed.

Qualifications
Are you our kind of extraordinary?
With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, you have a minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience supporting Server environments, managing VMware virtual server environments and operating storage and backup solutions. You also have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience managing public cloud-based resources.
Your technical skills include:
- Experience in IT Infrastructure and Operations administration, engineering, architecture (enterprise scale), incl., demonstrated working experience with:
- OS system administration (Windows and Linux);
- Virtualization technologies (Hyper-V or VMware );
- Server Network administration (DNS, DHCP, NTP, Active Directory, etc.);
- Automation and self-service solutions;
- Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
- Experience with key hardware vendors (IBM, Dell, Lenovo, Nutanix or HP);
- Experience with or knowledge of NetApp storage technologies or alternatives (EMC, EqualLogic, Nimble);
- Experience with or knowledge of backup tools (CommVault or Veeam);
- Knowledge of Azure fundamentals (IAM, network, security, etc.), plus working experience with Azure Server & Storage resources;
- Hands-on experience creating resource groups, virtual networks, load balancer, virtual machine, attaching storage disks, amongst other Cloud operations;
- Solid experience in monitoring, alerting and analytics, proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting;
- Experience supporting IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS based solutions is a plus;
- Experience with or knowledge of backup & disaster recovery preparedness, monitoring, testing, and activation;
- Experience in observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, LogicMonitor, Datadog, VMware vRealize, etc.) is an asset;
- Experience with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) is a plus.
Certifications:
- Certifications in any of the following or similar technologies is a strong asset: VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS, Storage & Backup, Linux Redhat;
- ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
