Job Description

The Program Leader manages a team of remote and local employees executing document review and approvals. They have an eye for detail and have the ability to manage a complex program across multiple sites. Interacts with clients effectively and ensures that their needs are being met within the constraints of the approved project.  Effectively manages and motivates teams to meet project goals.  Has some business knowledge of the food industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Proactive communication.
  • Timely tracking of complex deliverables
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
  • Ability to manage multiple task remotely

Project management:

  • Uses project-planning documents/tools to direct the work of multiple projects and track progess.
  • Develops new process flows and review documentation based on client requirements.
  • Develops and implements process improvements plans.
  • Make sure all employees trained on multiple tasks assigns work to meet project requirements.
  • Communicates with internal team, clients and third parties. Leads meetings as required.
  • Tracks projects’ performance through interaction with clients, project teams and direct reports.
  • Manages resourcing against project needs.

Client management:

  • Works closely with other business units to maintain and strengthen relationships during active projects.
  • Understands clients’ needs, establishes project deliverables, communicates progress against goals, provides appropriate visibility to resource use versus plan and ensures client satisfaction.
  • Shares key information with other business units to coordinate unified approach
  • Travels to accounts as required to support meetings with key clients

Team management:

  • Manages a remote team of up to 15 technical and clerical staff.
  • Coordinates training programs per program needs
  • Interviews candidates to support recruitment
  • Fosters professional development of direct reports, through coaching, encouragement, training and responsibility sharing.
  • Works with direct reports to ensure that professional development goals are met.
  • Executes YER’s of direct reports as well as contributing to YER’s of entire team
  • Works with direct reports to ensure that professional development goals are met.

Communications

  • Ensures appropriate and timely communication of key information (business planning, project, personnel, client, etc.) throughout the organization through periodic meetings as well as passive and active communication tools.

New business development

  • Supports new client prospecting through pro-active and re-active programs.
  • Develops a network of clients, vendors, and contacts
  • Leads pro-active innovation projects and activities to support client satisfaction
  • Leads visits of prospective clients and/or development of project initiation documents

Other

  • Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS degree in sciences or engineering fields, or equivalent experience Food Science background preferred.
  • Experience in project management and supervision of professional and technical personnel is required. 
  • Experience in client management and business development.

  • Familiarity with managing remote teams

Pay Range: $100k/Yr.- $130k/Yr.
