Job Description

 

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple large scale projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards and deliver
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Liaise with internal clients to understand project requirements, provide updates, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, including scientists and technicians, to ensure efficient workflow and accurate results.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or bottlenecks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, data analyses, and project documentation for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and oversee their work when applicable to projects.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and improvements.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve laboratory processes and project management methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field preferable; Master's degree a bonus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in laboratory setting, with at least 5 years in a project management role.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team motivation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory operations, including equipment, testing procedures, and quality control processes.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sense of urgency

  • Proactive notification of issues, ability to problem solve with team to deliver alternatives.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is highly desirable.
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • High positive energy, strongly people oriented with a commitment to service to others
  • Facility expansion and construction experience a bonus.
