Eurofins E&E CML is a profitable Certification Body and Test Laboratory based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire and is part of the Eurofins network of laboratories. Our team consists of around 40 staff. We evaluate, test, and certify products designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. We provide these services for numerous certification schemes including IECEx (International), ATEX (European Union), UKEX (United Kingdom) and NRTL (USA and Canada). Our customers are located around the globe, they are primarily manufacturers of process and industrial equipment used in the oil and gas, chemical and mining industries.
Job Description
Eurofins E&E CML Limited is seeking to recruit Certification Engineers who have a background in either:
- electronic engineering and who will be appointed to specialise in the evaluation of equipment that utilise “intrinsically safe” electronics.
or;
- electrical or mechanical engineering and who will be appointed to specialise in the evaluation of equipment that utilize mechanical and electrical equipment and components
Suitable training on this specialised area will be provided.
These are both technical and client-facing roles that would suit an electrical and/or electronics engineer who is currently working for a manufacturer of electronic, electrical, process or industrial equipment in a product design capacity or working for a certification body; and who is enthusiastic, pragmatic, and thorough and who enjoys being part of a small, growing team. Experience is preferred at this stage, but we are also willing to discuss other roles and opportunities with newly qualified candidates.
Responsibilities:
As a well-established business, with a wide-ranging scope, the exact role requirements can be determined partly to suit the candidate’s own experience, interests and capabilities. We see this as an opportunity to develop with the business and potential for the candidate's role to evolve over time as the business grows
Initially, the expectation is that the role would involve responsibility for:
- Assessment of products designed to national, regional and international standards.
- Preparation of technical reports, technical files and certificates
- Preparation of quotations
- Technical advice meetings with clients
Senior roles may include responsibility for review of draft reports and mentoring trainee certification engineers.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential as is attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple activities at once, a collaborative work ethic and a demonstrable desire to deliver outstanding service internally and externally.
An applicable degree, HND or HNC technical qualification is required, electronics or electrical subjects are preferred.
Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to “get involved” and form part of our continued success.
Experience in the design or certification of products intended for use in hazardous areas is advantageous but not required.
