Job Description
Working hours are Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm.
This is a hybrid working role.
- To provide strategic purchasing services to the UK Eurofins businesses as part of a centralised purchasing department, for all UK entities.
- To strategically determine, implement and manage a portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories in a way which ensures that they support the core business activities and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- To deliver significant savings and value for money on a scope of responsibility whilst increasing the level of product quality, service, and delivery to the business.
- To ensure that all contracts and processes improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and increase productivity whilst mitigating risk and delivering value to the business.
- To ensure the business meets its moral, environmental, and legal obligations particularly re sustainability and responsible sourcing.
- To deliver best in class purchasing systems and practices to both existing businesses and new acquisitions.
- To be the face for the internal customer to manage all purchasing related activities i.e. service the wider business in line agreed SLA’s and be responsible for end user satisfaction as measured by internal surveys.
- To drive Coupa implementation, Purchase Order compliance, e-catalogue usage, invoice digitization in the respective scope of responsibility.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of working in a strategic purchasing role
- Educated to degree level.
- CIPS qualifications preferable but not essential.
- A customer-focused and practical approach
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage, collaborate and influence.
- High energy, ‘can-do’ attitude, with a drive and a passion to succeed.
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong negotiation skills with proven experience in cost management and tendering complex spend categories.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good knowledge of the legal aspects of purchasing
- Good knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
- Experience with Coupa (preferable but not essential) or other purchasing systems (e.g. SAP).
- IT literate
