Job Description

The Commercial Management team supports the business from a contractual perspective by supporting, and where required leading, the negotiation and conclusion of commercial contracts with our customers. The team is supported by its own internal legal team and by other functions across Experian such as Compliance, Strategic Pricing and Finance teams to ensure that the wider commercial considerations are taken into account when structuring, negotiating and concluding deals.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure that each commercial sales transaction is contracted on terms which conform to Experian's global contract policy,
  • Work with Sales and support functions to ensure adherence to deal and risk governance processes and policies.
  • Contribute to the improvement and management of commercial processes and process systemisation and automation.
  • Participate and where required lead project work related to contract automation, including supporting the implementation and optimization of the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
  • Contribute to process improvement programs aimed at enhancing efficiency and streamlining contract management workflows.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify and implement optimisation projects in the commercial contracting process.
  • Negotiate sales transactions with clients and internal partners ensuring the business does not take excessive risk or contract on inappropriate legal or commercial terms;
  • Provide guidance on all contract and commercial matters to sales and account managers and Product, technical, delivery and other teams where required;
  • Working with other specialist teams, lead on the creation of deal specific contract schedules and negotiate commercial terms with clients, including those high value contracts;
  • Provide commercial support covering complex contractual and commercial terms and draft contract amendments.
  • Provide training to Experian employees around commercial processes, contracting practices and procedures.
  • Support and lead the implementation of procedures for contractual governance and contract management and administration in compliance with Experian's policies;
  • Consult on and draft different contract templates.
  • Respond to Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)/Data Processing Agreement queries including reviewing customer NDAs and DPAs, liaising with Legal Team for escalations, drafting of new provisions for these agreements, amending our standard NDA/DPA agreements in corporation with legal where needed.
  • Ensure that correct Commercial management processes are followed such as the SSR process and ensure all contract information is input into Salesforce to maintain accurate records of approvals and events.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years experience in Commercial/Contract management role
  • Legal degree qualification, or experience in commercial environment.
  • Experience leading process improvement projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in contract automation projects, including working with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
  • Experience contributing to process improvement and optimisation projects within a commercial contracting environment.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline and enhance contract management workflows.
  • Knowledge of software delivery and managed IT services
  • Excellent English language skills.
