Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will collaborate with team in designing, producing, testing, or implementing moderately complex software, technology, or processes, as well as create and maintain IT architecture, large scale data stores, and cloud-based systems.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst - ServiceNow role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Software Asset Management (SAM):
    • Manage the lifecycle of software assets, including procurement, deployment, usage tracking, and retirement.
    • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures for effective SAM.
  • ServiceNow Expertise:
    • Configure and manage the ServiceNow SAM Pro module, including license tracking, reconciliation, and optimization.
    • Automate workflows and reporting using the ServiceNow platform.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAM with other ServiceNow modules (e.g., IT Asset Management, Configuration Management).
  • License Optimization:
    • Perform software usage analysis to identify underused or unused licenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
    • Proactively monitor and resolve license compliance risks.
  • Audit and Reporting:
    • Prepare for and assist with internal and external software audits.
    • Generate and analyze detailed reports on software asset inventory, compliance status, and financial impacts.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Work with procurement, finance, and IT teams to ensure accurate software asset tracking and budget alignment.
    • Act as a subject matter expert for SAM processes and tools, providing training and support to internal teams.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance SAM processes and leverage ServiceNow capabilities for increased efficiency.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in software asset management.

 

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences:

  • 2 years

Desired Experiences:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in software asset management and software license management.
    • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, specifically SAM Pro or related ITAM modules.
    • Familiarity with software licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, VMware).
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining ServiceNow
    • Proficiency in managing software models, entitlements, discovery models, normalization and reconciliation processes to generated Effective License Positions (ELPs).
    • Proficiency with native ServiceNow discovery tools (ex. ACC) and integrations.
    • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SAM.
    • IT Asset Management (ITAM) certification.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
