Production Specialist - 1st Shift

Job Description
Assembles metal products such as doors and windows, partially or completely. Cuts and punches wood and metal materials to be assembled later in the process. Cuts and processes various sizes and styles of soft plate glass. Working on shop floor in a leadership role. Ensure the daily schedule is met in a safe manner with quality product by staffing required jobs in an efficient manner.
- Fulfill a primary role in safety, quality, productivity and cost avoidance efforts in the department.
- Assembles parts according to knowledge of product being assembled or by following established processes or procedures.
- Operates drill presses, sawing equipment, punch presses, laminating, riveting machines and other equipment to assist in assembly operation.
- Capable of performing virtually all assembly positions as needed.
- Assist in assigning personnel to specific jobs on a daily basis and ensure proper rotation.
- Ensure department leadership is aware of equipment in need of repair or maintenance.
- Identify potential work flow issues and assist in resolution.
- Perform job requirements and operate equipment within safety guidelines and report any nonconformance.
- Be a source of information and support for personnel.
- Recommend improvements to current processes.
- Must have basic computer skills and be able to do data entry as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Reading and writing skills are essential. Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence. Ability to process specified instructions.
- Leadership experience.
- Ability to add, subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
- Ability to measure, read, and understands a tape measure.
