Through its training and professional development programs, the Victory Institute assists hundreds of individuals who go on to influential careers in politics, government, business and advocacy each year.  Many of the Victory Institute’s trainees join the more than 1,000 openly LGBT elected and appointed officials now serving around the world.

Job Description

The Victory Institute continues to expand its LGBT leadership trainings and development programs across the globe. We are seeking a motivated, driven programs manager with a passion for achieving equality and human dignity by creating a diverse international network of LGBT leaders.

Globally, Victory trains international LGBT leaders, collaborates with political parties for greater inclusion of LGBT people, raises public awareness around democratic governance, and conducts research on LGBT political participation in countries outside of the United States. Victory has partnered with local and national organizations to train LGBT leaders in the Balkans, Colombia, and Peru, and we are working to expand our programming to additional countries.

Responsibilities

General Administrative Support

The international programs manager will be responsible for coordinating a team of interns to ensure smooth and organized flow of information and execution of programs. 

• Weekly check-in meeting of team staff and interns.

• Recruit, assign tasks for and generally manage team interns.

• Coordinate responses to email and web questions about the international program.

• Provide assistance for Victory events.

• Coordinate travel logistics as needed for speakers and program participants.

• Assist with the creation and maintenance of fundraising materials.

• Other administrative duties as assigned.

Programs Execution

The international programs manager will be a quick and effective researcher able to analyze and synthesize information on diverse topics and apply that knowledge to executing and enhancing Victory’s international programs. He or she will also be comfortable with program outreach, recruitment, evaluation and fundraising. He or she will be directly involved in all aspects of Victory’s international programming, and must be articulate and comfortable discussing Victory’s work with the public, with elected and appointed officials, and with key stakeholders including funders. Responsibilities include:

• Coordinate outreach and recruitment for all international programs in consultation and cooperation with the director of international programs. 

• Communicate with LGBT leaders in program countries, enhancing Victory’s global network of leaders.

• Develop and sustain external partnerships to increase the capacity or resources of Victory’s programs.

• Assist in writing grant proposals and grant progress reports, including both narrative and financial content.

• Conduct assessments for future program locations, dates and participants.

• Provide general support for programs and for the director of international programs and the director of domestic programs.

• Other programs duties as assigned.

Organization-wide Responsibilities

• The international programs manager will participate in weekly all-staff meetings and will be prepared to report on the status, needs and accomplishments of assigned programs.

• The international programs manager will occasionally assist other Teams as required.

• The international programs manager will be an active and engaged participant in annual staff retreats, and will offer support for board meetings, strategic planning and other Executive Team needs.

• The international programs manager will participate in and assist with fundraising events for both the Fund and Institute.

• Other organization-wide responsibilities as assigned.



Qualifications

• 2 years of experience working to deliver non-profit/leadership/training programs.

• Passion for LGBT equality and leadership.

• Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.

• Fluency in Spanish and English, both conversationally and in writing. 

• Ability to communicate respectfully, clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Desire to be a problem-solver.

• Ability and desire to work independently to meet hard deadlines.

• Ability to travel internationally.
