Role and Responsibilities

The Commercial Training Services Operations Manager (CTSOM) is responsible for GBSI’s commercial training delivery and support organization.  The CTSOM manages the daily operations of training and quality assurance for training programs to ensure effective and efficient operations.  The CTSOM will ensure that GBSI’s training resources are developed, implemented, utilized, and evaluated.  The CTSOM will ensure that policies, procedures, and standards are followed and maintained.

The CTSOM, working with the Sales and Marketing organization, will also align commercial training resources with community workforce development and employee development initiatives. The CTSOM will communicate training needs proactively with business management, anticipate customer’s training related needs, and develop integrated training solutions. The CTSOM will maintain an effective level of business literacy about GBSI’s strategic plans, culture, and competition and provide general operational oversight and supervision for all GBSI training center locations.

 

Primary Objectives of the Commercial Training Services Operations Manager

  • Manages day-to-day functions of GBSI commercial training centers, including reviewing/approving internal and external business activities;
  • Develops, reviews, improves and approves policies, processes, and procedures to increase the effectiveness and overall efficiency of commercial training services;
  • Oversees commercial training services and training fulfillment support to external and internal customers, including commercial, academic, training program managers, training account executives, and business teams;
  • Ensures the successful execution of training fulfillment, at all commercial training locations, on a daily basis;
  • Learning Managment Systems experience is helpful;
  • Continually locates and implements new training resources to help meet company objectives (i.e. highly qualified instructors, courseware, curriculum, training labs etc.);
  • Assists the Commercial Sales Manager in developing strategic market plans, increasing company market share, and generating sales leads;
  • Coordinates facility tours and demonstrations of GBSI training capabilities;
  • Acts as a project manager for the Training Resource Management System (TRMS). As such, assumes responsibility for the automation of training and fulfilment services.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Three (3) to five (5) years of commercial training operations management experience or any appropriate combination of education and experience; PMP certification desired;
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory skills;
  • Demonstrated project management, time management, and effective decision making skills;
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills interacting with customers, senior management, team members, and employees;
