Job Description
We are looking for a creative and organized Digital Producer, Audience. The Digital Producer will coordinate multiple projects and manage day-to-day website requests. They will collaborate with writers, editors, designers, and developers and must be able to communicate well and with a service mindset. They will work closely with the Art Director to produce features, the engineering team to coordinate site maintenance, and the audience team to produce social media content.
We’re looking for a person who has a mix of design and technical skills, as well as razor-sharp attention to detail and a willingness to become the in-house expert at WordPress. The Digital Producer should also be friendly and able to communicate well with multiple types of people. This person should have a deep desire to build great digital products and a commitment to Grist’s mission.
This is a full-time, remote-friendly position and will report to Grist’s Director of Innovation and Growth.
Oversee the production of digital media including videos, website development, online advertising, and email marketing
Create and/or collaborate with other teams on new concepts and designs for new digital projects
Work with the Director, Innovation and Growth and other stakeholders (Development, Editorial, Fix) to build, update, and maintain newsletter, web, and other digital experiences
Be the in-house subject matter expert on Wordpress capabilities and best practices
Work with the audience team, editorial team, and development team to produce newsletters
Along with Art Director, program staff, and outside designers and developers, design, troubleshoot, and bring to production large-scale feature
Document and own Wordpress, train new staff on Wordpress and CMS best practices
Liaise between tech and program staff
Ensure all content is on brand
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, digital media or equivalent, relevant work experience
Minimum of 4-5 years professional experience in a similar role
Highly independent, organized and proactive
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Have a roll-up-your-sleeves mindset
Customer-service mindset
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, communicates effectively with multiple stakeholders
Technical requirements:
Strong knowledge of computer software and applications related to web design, video editing, and graphic design, with advanced knowledge and professional experience with Wordpress
Advanced knowledge of standard design software tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
Facility with CSS and HTML
Knowledge of PHP a plus
