Full Time (Benefits) Salary:    $29,040 - $35,000/year

Job Description

Assist participants to obtain employment in the community; identify companies, and educating employers about the pool of potential employees that may be suitable to fit their staffing needs; contribute to the mission of Goodwill by helping to maximize the opportunities for persons with disabilities or other barriers to become more independent, working within the limits of established policies.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Call on potential employers to explain the benefits of employing participants and possible training opportunities to GGI’s diverse workforce, educating employers as to the participant’s abilities, aptitude, skills and knowledge as it relates to the job.
2. Interview participants and other supports to determine interests, desires, barriers and skills. Work with participants to develop cover letters and resumes.
3. Maintain current knowledge of the job market trends. Identify specific job opportunities closely related to the participant’s career goals. Create job analysis to determine the duties and requirements to make an effective job match. Match skill levels and job conditions to participant abilities and limitations.
4. Develop relations within the community such as local Chambers, Rotary Clubs, business development boards and business leadership networks. Initiate contacts with public and private sectors to develop on-the-job training, job shadowing and direct job placement opportunities for participants. Maintain cooperative relationships with employers, academic and vocational training institutions.
5. Participate in community programs and events to communicate and promote development of job opportunities for participants.
6. Communicate and exchange information with assigned case manager and other team members involved with assigned participants. Engage the services of referral agencies and other supports.
7. Monitor the participant’s progress and provide encouragement and motivation to succeed. Maintain contact with the participant and the employer ensuring a successful placement.
8. Arrange for employment interviews, attend job fairs and conduct special workshops, presentations, group orientations, including other training and outreach activities.
9. Create and collaborate with community leaders to complete and detail search assignments (client engagement documents), ensuring an understanding of job duties, responsibilities and business requirements.
10. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leaders, vendors, community organizations and other team members to create a partnership that yields success, predictable results and credibility. Develop and maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified leaders.
11. Document activities to ensure a complete and thorough audit trail of contacts and activities.
12. Submit benchmark billing and retrieve authorized signatures.
13. Secure a minimum of two (2) participant job placements per month.
14. Provide assistance with other general department activities.

1. Demonstrate by words and actions a commitment to the Goodwill mission to help people with disabilities and other barriers to become self-sufficient, working members of the community.
2. Perform or assist with any duties or operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedules and quality requirements.
3. Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules, keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
4. Participate in any variety of meetings and task force groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Rehabilitation, Social Work, Business or related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis in lieu of degree.
2. Certification in Career Development Facilitation (CDF) preferred.
3. Excellent communication skills required.
4. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with employers and referral agents.
5. Minimum of one (1) year job placement experience preferred.
6. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, valid insurance, reliable transportation for travel to outlying locations and the ability to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. General office environment
2. Regular travel
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer and peripherals, standard software programs including word processing, spreadsheets, standard office and safety equipment.
