As part of this omni transformation journey, we are recruiting the role of Accountant Specialist for Spain.

As an Accountant specialist, you will work as a part of the Accounts Team, with the responsibility for ensuring the day to day accounting and controls, preparation of monthly management accounts and ensuring successful completion of various month end tasks.

We believe that for this position, you need to be highly motivated and capable of working independently and as well as part of a team. We also believe you need to be able to manage multiple deliverables while showing accuracy and adherence to tight deadlines and controls around accounting.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant Specialist to oversee accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Accountant Specialist responsibilities include keep the books correct ensuring quality, up to date and according to law and make sure routines are followed and that the books are closed on time. Accountant Specialist must have well knowledge in local tax regulations and be able to analyse the taxation of any of the scenarios in our business.

A successful accountant specialist combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyse financial reports and forecast. The ideal candidate has also experience collaborating and/or managing a team of accountants.

Accountant specialist duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of or accounting tasks.

The job of a Accountant Specialist comes with lots of responsibilities and challenges

• Responsible, together with the Accounting team, for all accounting routines in compliance with the standards and values of H&M, local tax and accounting regulations
• Budget. Participate in the budgeting process of some of the company's items. Analyse the figures and ensure the best forecast. Quarterly review and correction of possible deviations.
• Consolidation.  Participate in the reporting process to the parent company with some schedules. Elaboration of figures, confirmation of data, analysis of deviations and explanation of them.
• Local Tax advisor:  Ensure that taxes are made in accordance with local regulations and do good tax planning. Ensure tax regulations in new projects and routines. Be up-to-date with the latest developments and make the best decisions to adapt to regulations efficiently.
• Routines for fixed asset bookings and depreciation calculations
• Stocktake. Guarantee accuracy in all the process, calculations and bookings.
• Project Coordination: participate in Global projects, coordinate activities between local and global, evaluate the need for local resources and guarantee the compliance when needed.
• Work in accordance with VAT & Corporate Tax & Withholding Tax and accountant rules.
• Prepare statutory reporting and statistics.
• Analyse key financial data.
• Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for visual understanding.
• Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise.
• Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities.
• Preparation of monthly and yearly cut, prepare journal entries and reconciliations, make accruals and do follow up and analysis of expenses in comparison with forecast made by different departments.
• Attend to the needs of both internal and external audit.
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Provide input into departments and company’s goals.
• Collaborate if it’s required with other countries.
• Participate in Global projects when needed.

Your personal qualities should also include:

• University degree or higher education within Business Administration (or similar).
• Have a good knowledge of excel as well as knowledge of SAP.
• Both written and oral English skills are mandatory.
• Accounting skills: 5 years of experience within Accounting or Audit in a similar role, good knowledge of the legal local requirements.
