WHAT YOU’LL DO

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor Regulations: Keep track of current and upcoming compliance regulations within your area of responsibility (e.g., Regulation on deforestation-free products). Evaluate the information and determine its importance for the H&M Group in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Project Management: Ensure all relevant stakeholders are well-informed about the requirements within your area of responsibility, enabling them to implement these effectively and ensure compliance with current and upcoming legislation. This role involves cross-functional coordination within Product Compliance and collaboration with impacted stakeholders across the organization.
- Ensure Compliance: Secure compliance for timber, timber-related (e.g., paper), and non-timber (e.g., bamboo) products with legal requirements (e.g., EUDR, Lacey Act, Australia Illegal Logging Prohibition) including conducting timber compliance risk assessments.
- Strategy Development: Work with the Global Sustainability team to manage global and regional projects and strategies to develop the H&M Group forestry agenda.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to other business teams within the H&M Group to ensure all stakeholders are up to date with compliance requirements.
- Point of Contact: Act as the speaking partner (POC) on behalf of Product Compliance in the organization connected to legislations in scope.
- External Collaboration: Cooperate with relevant external parties such as working groups, standardization organizations, authorities, and NGOs.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will be part of the Product Compliance department, which is a part of the function “Product Offer Development and Support” in our Product organization. The Product Compliance team is responsible for setting legal requirements and routines for all products sold by the H&M Group, in all countries and channels, in line with local legislation and a precautionary principle. This includes product safety, labelling, chemical, and physical test demands. By supporting several parts of our business with our expertise, we contribute to the overall customer experience.
WHO YOU ARE
We believe you are communicative and driven collaborator who enjoys working with a variety of people in an international environment. To succeed in this role, you are solutions-focused, curious, and structured with a collaborative “can-do” approach and an eye for details. Additionally, we are looking for people who have:
- University degree in forestry, sustainability, engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 2-4 years of work experience within forestry regulations/compliance.
- Strong project management skills and experience in managing complex strategic projects across multiple functions and stakeholders.
- Understanding and knowledge within supply chain and production, preferably in Furniture, Textile, or Packaging.
- Understanding of product compliance’s impact/importance for the business.
- Good knowledge of Global Timber Compliance regulations (e.g., US Lacey Act, EUDR).
- Experience in reading and evaluating regulations.
- Ability to turn complex information into user-friendly outputs.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
