Hydrogen Research Institute (IRH) of Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) is one of Canada’s leading institutions in hydrogen research.

Our mission is to advance science and technology for the establishment of a sustainable energy system using hydrogen particularly in the field of storage, safety and use. The Hydrogen Research Institute is a multidisciplinary team of over 50 people having at its disposal state of the art equipment and laboratories.

The Smart Energy and Innovation Research Laboratory (https://www.uqtr.ca/lirei) in collaboration with the Hydrogen Research Institute (https://www.irh.ca/) is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position. We are looking for researchers with extensive knowledge in the filed of smart power and energy systems.  

Salary: 48 000$/year to 50 000$/year

Duration: One year, up to one additional year considering mutual satisfaction and funding availability 

The candidate must have completed or be organized to complete their graduate training before the beginning of the position. The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering and their expertise and research interests should span the following areas:   

• Smart grid technologies
• Distributed energy resources modeling and integration
• Transactive energy networks
• Home energy management systems
• Energy storage systems and applications

In addition, the candidate should be familiar with the applications of mathematical methods such as optimization or machine learning algorithms to the power systems. They should be skilful at programming (Python, MATLAB, etc.) and capable of conducting both theoretical and experimental studies. Sufficient knowledge in English (or French) speaking and writing is also required. The candidate must be able to write papers, proposals, and technical reports.
