Job Location: Hydrogen Research Institute-UQTR

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in the field of Materials science, Polymer, Chemical Engineering with a major interest in proton exchange membrane water electrolyser. The candidate should have a PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or closely related fields, with an outstanding profile to work on the project focuses on synthesis and characterization of different membranes.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Conduct experimental studies to support advanced PEM water electrolyzer assembling and testing
• Synthesize and characterization of different membranes
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of, critically analyze, and summarize degradation modes
• Prepare scaled up membrane electrode assembly and test it under developed accelerate stress test
• Analyze, interpret and summarize physical and electrochemical data
• Troubleshoot instrument and equipment problem

Requirements include, but not limited to:

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science or Materials Science.
• Solid experiences in synthesis and characterizations of membranes
• Understanding of proton exchange membrane water electrolyser
• Strong material characterization skills (SEM, TEM, XRD, XRF, FTIR, XPS, etc)
• Extensive experience of electrochemical diagnostic methods (EIS, CV, LSV etc...)
• Excellent knowledge of AST protocols and degradation modes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by a strong publication and conference presentation record
• Strong organization, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work quickly and reliably while under pressure
