Job Description

Poka is a dynamic, innovative company where we empower manufacturers to drive operational excellence through our connected worker platform. We’re a tight-knit team with big ambitions, working collaboratively to solve real-world challenges for our clients.

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our small but fierce legal team, reporting directly to the Senior Legal Counsel based in Canada. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for procurement processes, strong organizational skills, and a desire to make a significant impact within a growing company. You’ll be working in a collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued and leveraged to streamline our procurement operations.

Preferred time zone coverage: 12.30 – 21.30 (Sri Lanka Time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the procurement process from sourcing to contract execution, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify procurement needs and develop strategies to meet business requirements effectively.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements during all stages of procurement.
  • Prepare and review procurement documents, including standard agreements.
  • Monitor vendor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports to support business decision-making.
  • A keen interest, or experience, in integrating artificial intelligence into work methods and an openness to experimentation with new technological tools

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within a technology or SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices and contract management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working remotely and adjusting to a schedule of 12.30 – 21.30 (Sri Lanka Time).
