Job Description
What we’re looking for:
The Account Executive is responsible for revenue generation within the Pool, Spa, Patio & Deck Expo markets. The position will be responsible for increasing sales to existing customers and prospecting new business for exhibit space and booths, sponsorship, and digital products within a defined territory.
The Account Executive will be involved in a combination of internal and external sales activity, meeting customers face to face and attending shows. Writing proposals and making presentations. Their performance will be evaluated based on set territorial revenue goals, their customer service skills and management of administrative duties.
The account executive will be expected to learn the industry, build strong relationships, and document all interactions between Informa and the client. You will need to understand your customers’ needs and be able to articulate a compelling value proposition leading to sales growth.
Role Responsibilities:
- Sell booth space, sponsorships, and digital products for a territory via telephone, in person sales calls and email.
- Work independently and with manager to create strategic plans to achieve revenue goals by generating new sales ideas and researching new markets and trends.
- Prospect for new business through various sources including industry and other publications, websites, cold-calling and competitive shows.
- Develop strong relationships with current and new customers and ensure the customer is provided continued service as it relates to their investment.
- Prepare customized business proposals as required.
- Customize sponsorship and booth space offerings to fit the needs of clients
- Provide accurate sales projections and forecasts for their territory.
- Maintain and update sales databases.
- Generate new sales ideas and research market trends.
- Ensure consistent and profitable growth in sales revenues by planning, development and management of sales activities within designated territory.
- Work closely with show management to develop creative sales messages and marketing promotions.
- Function as an integral part of overall show management effort in performing additional duties as required.
- Travel as required to tradeshows and/or to visit with clients and prospects
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in a B2B sales team and a proven ability to deliver and exceed revenue targets
- Experience managing multiple customers and maintaining high-energy sales
- Relationship management experience including maintaining customer connection and communication
- Ability to identify and pursue cross and up selling opportunities
- Ability to ask probing questions in order to proactively handle and respond to customer objections
- Strong interpersonal skills, high level of passion and enthusiasm for the job
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong time-management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task.
- High level of proficiency in the use of standard computer software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of CRM / sales database management a plus. Knowledge of SalesForce.com a plus plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
- Must be team-focused with a collaborative mindset and able to work seamlessly with exhibitors and internal teams.
- Motivated to learn and become knowledgeable on industry trends, products, and news.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, fast learner.
- Excellent customer service skills with a desire to succeed.

The salary for this role is 60k to 65k based on experience
