This role sits within the Finance Centre of Excellence, which is a global service provider to the wider finance shared services organisation.  The Finance CoE manages global, division-agnostic processes and outputs where the team aim to build and enhance quality, consistency and scalability.

Reporting into the CoE Finance Manager this is a key operational role which is accountable for delivering an accurate, high value, consistent service for all accounting aspects of the Finance Centre of Excellence. You will be a high performing individual that embraces and drives change whilst showing effective collaboration with your team and business counterparts.

You must ensure that all company policies are adhered to. You must also ensure that duties are carried out within set time limits whilst providing an excellent level of service to all Informa customers and colleagues.  

Informa takes the security and privacy of company, colleague and customer data seriously and you are responsible for working securely and supporting this within your duties.

We will require this person to commit to travelling to the Colchester office 2-3 days a week

Key Responsibilities

·        Take ownership of payroll postings, reconciliations and associated queries and reporting

·        Support the intercompany and fixed asset processes

·        Perform and/or review all calculations, postings and processes within your remit

·        Ensure that all CoE-owned balance sheets are an accurate reflection of all assets and liabilities for the areas that you support and be prepared to report to management on this

·        Train, support and monitor performance of the Capgemini BPO team that support CoE activities.  Deal with any issues and escalate as necessary

·        Ensure all process documents are up-to-date and readily available for your areas of responsibility

·        Work effectively with internal and external auditors

·        Ensure all statutory and regulatory deadlines within your remit are met

·        Liaise with both SSC and business teams as necessary

·        Analyse and solve ad hoc problems using your knowledge of the business and systems

·        Make proactive suggestions for continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance CoE

·        Support on special projects within the department, including testing for new systems, developing new processes, assisting with the implementation of SSC wide projects introduced by Senior Managers or Global Process Owners, etc

·        Assist with ad hoc duties as needed

Qualifications

Qualifications

·        Strong academic background

·        Ideally newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Part Qualified also considered

·        Experience of managing work with an offshore service provider would be advantageous

·        Good working knowledge and understanding of Shared Service Centre processes and how these fit into the wider environment

·        Good understanding of R2R processes including best practice, people, processes and technology

·        Ability to manage own deadlines and priorities whilst delivering a high standard of working and supporting junior and offshore team members when they require assistance

·        Experience of Oracle and/or SAP would be advantageous
