Job Description

Ingram Content Group (ICG) is hiring for a Desktop Technician to contribute to our IT End User Support team in LaVergne, TN, just outside the Nashville area.  This is an onsite position.

In this role, you will provide basic support and maintenance of in-house desktops and peripherals, specifically Mac and Windows machines. You will install, repair, maintain, and upgrade all hardware, software, and related equipment. You’ll remove and add hardware/software to existing workstation configurations. You will also organize and prioritize activities and complete tasks under supervision. Finally, you will use independent judgment to review and recommend process improvement changes to Manager.  The ideal candidate will have experience supporting MAC and Windows machines.

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience with workstation maintenance, repair and installation
  • 6 months of experience with the installation of Microsoft operating systems and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting MAC and Windows machines
  • JAMF Knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolves basic end user issues received via ticketing system accurately, efficiently and to the satisfaction of the end user.
  • Provides appropriate solutions which enable the end user to work productively with minimal disruption.
  • Installs, configures, maintains standards, and provides the first level of support for Workstation Operating Systems and Workstation Applications – including but not limited to MS Office Suites, virus prevention, applications, and miscellaneous 3rd party applications.
  • Builds, upgrades, repairs and adds peripherals to end user hardware.
  • Administrates and monitors lower level activities related to software licensing and usage.
  • Uses discretion to resolve, close and administrate trouble tickets.
  • Proactively improves processes and procedures related to the position.
  • Recommends solutions for repetitive problems and IT End User Support processes and procedures.
  • Troubleshoots printers.
  • Assists remote users with VPN and remote email access.
  • Maintains and builds technical knowledge through continuous education with a focus on customer support.
  • Maintains professional and respectful relationships with contacts including users, other IT personnel and vendors.
  • Enforces corporate network and security policies.
