In Supply Chain Operations (SCO) we lead, plan, and execute the supply of IKEA products between suppliers and retailers. We do this together with our ~1000 coworkers, from 17 locations around the world, by leading the tactical and operational planning, securing optimal replenishment, sourcing and development of transport and logistics capacities, and managing the goods the flow.
In Category Land we are responsible for procuring, developing and operating Land transport capacities in the IKEA Supply Chain.
We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) for our office in Warsaw, Poland to secure business objectives according to relevant IKEA strategic directions and Category Land Business Plan. As BDM you are responsible for a team of Business Developers and Service Provider Operations Developers, and the transportation business within the region. You work within Category Area Transport (consisting of two categories; Category Land and Category Ocean & Air).

Job Description
- You lead & manage a small team of business co-workers; inspire and empower them to perform the best of their capabilities and continuously develop in their assignments. You drive the leadership and competence agenda for your team - identify needs and gaps, build & implement leadership and competence plans to meet short and long term business needs. You are responsible for recruitment, development, performance management, and succession planning for co-workers in the team.
- You are accountable for business development and performance in all dimensions, securing meeting the business needs and customer expectations both today and tomorrow.
- You are accountable for establishing a high performing service providers’ base, through IKEA Way of doing business, based on shared business model, trust and transparency; where IKEA is the Preferred Business Partner.
- You establish and develop long-term relationships with selected Service Providers based on IKEA Way of doing business, a shared business model, IKEA values, trust, and transparency.
- You build trustful relations with our internal stakeholders, creating alignment to secure effective collaboration throughout the IKEA Supply Chain.
- You contribute to the optimisation of the value chain that creates better products and services at lower total costs to reach more of the many customers.
- You secure business objectives according to IKEA strategic plans and Category action plans
- You implement and secure compliance with relevant working methods and industry regulations.
- You lead in the way that IKEA culture and values are an everyday reality. Acts as role model for collaboration, togetherness and change management.
Qualifications
About You
To succeed in this role we believe that you have wide experience in working with business development within transportation. You have successfully been developing and handling businesses from operational, tactical and strategic perspectives. You are self-driven, energetic and result oriented.
It comes natural for you to always act as an IKEA ambassador towards both external as well as internal stakeholders, and you perform business responsibilities based on value- and fact-based business approach. Your entrepreneurial spirit is strong, and you have a natural way of seeing business opportunities and taking action. Your motivation in leading business and people together is high and your empathy is well developed.
Your networking capabilities are well developed and help you foster long-term and successful relationships with both external stakeholders and your close co-workers. You are experienced in interacting with external partners, including service provider management. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
